Under the name of Association for Banking and Finance, (hereafter referred to as ABF) is formed an international association with scientific and pedagogical objectives, incorporated according to the Swiss law (art. 60 and next Swiss Civil Code of December 10 1907).
The Association’s registered office shall be established in Lugano, Switzerland, via Giuseppe Buffi, 13 at the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the Università della Svizzera italiana, Lugano.
The objective of ABF, which is non-profit seeking, is to provide a professional forum to academics and practitioners interested in banking and finance theory and its applications. ABF will promote, disseminate and stimulate high quality research in the field.
ABF shall provide a network for the exchange of knowledge on an international level and constitute a framework allowing for a better dissemination of information on research and teaching.
ABF also aims at the development of relations with other professional and research-oriented associations which are active in the field of financial economics, as well as national and international committees and authorities concerned with political decision making in this field.
In view of the recent growth of financial markets and research in a much wider spectrum of countries from Australia to India and China, from New Zealand to Central and Eastern Europe, it is evident the need of an international organization in which all these new subjects can play an active role.
In order to achieve its objective, ABF will organize scientific meetings, foster the publication of academic and application-oriented journals and undertake any other activity in order to reach the above-mentioned goals.
In order to carry out its purpose, ABF will be permitted to collect funds, receive donations and sponsorships, organize congresses and research tutorials, maintain a website, publish a newsletter and any other document relating to its purpose. The Association may engage in any activity permitting it to carry out its purpose and/or facilitating the development of high quality research or teaching in the field of financial economics.
